I received my first running medal in the third grade when I captured the bronze in the 50-yard dash at the all-Catholic schools Knights of Columbus Track Meet in the San Fernando Valley. Thinking I had peaked at eight years old, I didn’t pick up the sport again until my late 20s, which led to a few 5Ks, a couple half marathons, and one full marathon. I retired my shoes again in my early 30s, only to pick up running one more time at the ripe old age of 41. Strangely, my body has cooperated, and since lacing up my Nikes six years ago, I’ve completed a few 10Ks, twenty half marathons, and eight marathons. This blog catalogs my challenges as a runner “of a certain age” and diminutive size (think hobbit). Follow me on my quest to run strong and injury-free even as my dinner times get earlier and earlier. Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can.

I work in a high-rise in the manufactured business district called Century City. My job pays me really well to basically answer phones and print emails (yay graduate degree!), and since it doesn’t take up too much head space or time, I can pursue my extracurricular interests, like running, reading, traveling, volunteering, opining, and the other things mentioned in my blog. My husband and I live in the San Fernando Valley with our two dogs. Below is the more personal info.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Kobe Bryant.

Weird Stuff I Dig

“The Bachelor.” And all Bachelor-related shows, including The Bachelor parody show “Burning Love” and the scathing “UnREAL” which pulls the curtain on such shows. I find they are complementary and work in great synergy to provide an orgiastic feeling of superiority, disgust, and schadenfreude. Yes, yes, all the good feelings.

Hey! I see you’ve read “Yes, Please” and “Eleanor & Park!” I’m looking for a few fellow readers to look at my book and possibly review it for me. I have a very short trailer and the first chapter, audio-book version, to check out! I’d give you a shout out on my youtube channel if you did!!

    Here’s the Goodreads link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2

    The trailer: https://youtu.be/rZR5_RvCZZs

And the first chapter sample audio-verson: https://youtu.be/ycOKAz_kCqs

    Thankful for any support!

Hi! I haven’t read “Eleonor & Park” yet, though it’s on my list. I’m not sure I’m your target audience? At any rate, can you re-send the goodreads link? It goes to Harry Potter (you’re not JK Rowling, are you?).

That link works! I like some YA — I enjoyed Hunger Games and have E&P and a few other books on my list. I’ll listen to your trailer and let you know. Either way, best of luck to you and thanks for reaching out. 🙂

Yay! Thank you! I’m super curious if you’d consider my book trailer young adult now.
